My niece was a Marilyn Monroe fan; I decided to make her a quilt. I didn't know how to get pictures on to fabric and an aquaintance, Debra, from the Quiltropolis crazy quilt list volunteered to print old pictures and recent pictures of my neice at MM's memorial plaque and star on Hollywood Blvd, on to fabric for me. I hand and machine embroidered the movie titles and character names that Marilyn Monroe played. Then embellished with lace, ribbon and beads.

My Aunt saw the quilt and knowing that her grand daughter was also a fan of Marilyn asked me to make another qulit for her to give to her grand daughter.

Purple Dragon Flies

This was my first attempt at wearable art. While working on it looked like dragon scales then I decided to put beaded dragonflys and butterflys on it. All the "scales" were hand appliqued on then embellished with a feather stitch.

Crazy Quilt Vest

This vest was made for a wearable art clothing construction class that I took at the local college. It was entered in the 2005 Antelope Valley Quilt Show and won Special Merit: Embellishment of a Wearable Art; 1st place: Viewer's Choice Wearable Art and President's Choice: Wearable Art.

For my Cousin

I made this quilt for my cousin's daughter to give to my cousin for her 50th birthday.

My cousin's daughter wrote haikus for the pictures that she had from the time she was born to present.

I printed the pictures and haikus on fabric and incorporated them with fabric that looks like picture frames then designed areas of different fashion and home decor fabrics; then embellished with ribbon, lace and beads.
